FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

VANCOUVER, B.C., October 21, 2026 — ARQS has released Openspot, a free browser tool for anyone hunting for open capacity: a desk or workspace, a room or venue, an appointment slot, a class or event seat, moorage or parking, equipment, a shift or volunteer spot, or a contract. Each opening goes on one board once, with its provider, area, rough distance, open dates and weekdays, hours, places left, price and any requirements such as insurance, a certificate or a licence, or a list of openings can be imported from a CSV file. The person then sets what they need: the types they want, preferred areas and a distance limit, a date range, weekdays, an earliest start and latest finish, hours needed in a day, places needed, a price limit and the requirements they meet. Openspot scores every opening out of 100 on type, timing, location, capacity, price and eligibility and gives a plain reason for each check. Openings that need something the person has not ticked, that are taken or closed, that have no places left or whose respond-by date has passed are set aside rather than ranked, and respond-by dates within three days are flagged. The board can be searched, filtered by type and minimum fit and sorted by best fit, soonest open, lowest price or distance. A starred shortlist keeps a next step for each opening, an enquiry draft can be copied into the person's own email or message, and the board exports as a CSV of openings with fit scores, a JSON file that opens again and a calendar file with the next open date and every respond-by reminder for the shortlist. Openspot reads no live availability and contacts no provider; every opening is one the person entered, and a labelled fictional sample of ten Okanagan openings is loaded for practice. Nothing leaves the browser. Openspot sits beside the OpenSpot availability and opportunity venture on arqs.ca.
