SpaceX picks Qualcomm radios for Starlink Mobile's U.S. network
San Diego's Qualcomm will supply Dragonwing base-station gear. SpaceX said a nationwide rollout is planned to begin in 2027.

Qualcomm Technologies, in a San Diego announcement dated November 4, said SpaceX has selected its Dragonwing cellular-infrastructure platforms for Starlink Mobile's terrestrial 5G network in the United States. The QRU100 and QDU100 platforms, with Massive MIMO radio and commercial-grade Layer 1 software, are meant to support base stations at scale.
SpaceX plans for the U.S. rollout to begin in 2027, with tens of thousands of sites over the multi-year agreement. Qualcomm said the work is a commercial step toward infrastructure built for a later generation of wireless networks.
