She starts January 4, 2027. Bruce Broussard, interim chief executive since February, becomes chair the same day.

HP Inc. said its board has unanimously appointed Emma Walmsley chief executive, effective January 4, 2027. Walmsley was most recently chief executive of GSK and has sat on Microsoft's board for seven years. She succeeds Bruce Broussard, interim chief executive since February 2026. Broussard becomes chair on January 4, succeeding Chip Bergh.
Bergh said the appointment followed a global search for the company's next chapter. Walmsley said she would focus on the shift of AI to the edge and on new sources of growth.
