Microsoft's Azure revenue rises 48 percent to $33.2 billion
The first quarter under the new two-segment report beat the company's own forecast. Shares rose nearly 4 percent after hours.

Microsoft's Azure cloud business brought in $33.2 billion in the September quarter, up 48 percent from a year earlier, GeekWire reported Wednesday. That beat the company's forecast of 44 to 45 percent growth and Wall Street's expectations. Azure revenue rose $10.8 billion from a year earlier. Some new data-center capacity arrived late. Overall revenue was $92.3 billion for the first quarter of fiscal 2027. Shares rose nearly 4 percent in after-hours trading.
This is the first quarter Microsoft reports Azure revenue in dollars every quarter, under a structure that splits the company into Agents and Infra, and Devices and Consumer. The figure now excludes GitHub's cloud business and Security Copilot, which sit with Microsoft 365.
