Seattle startup Ganaz, which provides payroll and HR software for agricultural employers and workers, has been acquired by Toronto-based Beacon Holdings, GeekWire reported Wednesday. Co-founder and CEO Hannah Freeman announced the deal on LinkedIn and said she is stepping away to spend time with her daughter. Terms were not disclosed.
Ganaz launched in 2017 and has raised more than $10 million. Its last disclosed round, in June 2021, valued the company at $26 million, according to PitchBook. The platform handles onboarding, training, communication and analytics, and offers a Mastercard payroll card for workers without bank accounts. Beacon said in September that its portfolio included 45 software businesses serving traditional industries.
