Seattle home-help startup Rosie raises $7 million and plans Austin and San Francisco launches in 2027
Founded by two former Amazon leaders, the company sends caregivers who mix childcare with household tasks and uses AI to remember each family's routines.

Rosie, a Seattle startup that sends caregivers into homes to combine childcare with household work, said on Tuesday it has raised $7 million across two rounds led by Bling Capital and Reach Capital, GeekWire reported. The company says it reached seven-figure annual recurring revenue within eight months and plans to launch in Austin in early 2027, followed by San Francisco later that year.
CEO Mitra Raman, a former Amazon engineer, co-founded Rosie last year with chief operating officer Karthika Shankar, who spent more than 12 years at Amazon managing recruiting teams and hiring programs. Rosie serves nearly 300 Seattle-area families with a full-time team of four, a few part-time staff and more than 100 caregivers it calls Pros.
Families buy a monthly membership of $250 for eight hours, $500 for 16 hours or $750 for 24 hours, with extra hours at $32 and no long-term contract. Pros fold laundry, reset kitchens, take out the trash and watch the children, but the company draws the line at deep cleaning. An AI system called Jetson tracks each family’s routines, preferences and favourite Pros and handles matching and scheduling.
Other investors include Graham & Walker, Marketplace Capital, Ingeborg Investments, Precursor Ventures, Mother Ventures and Yonder Ventures, with angels including DoorDash co-founder Evan Moore and Aviel Ginzburg of Founders’ Co-op. Prospective Pros go through identity verification, background and reference checks and an in-person assessment at Rosie’s Capitol Hill office.
