Vancouver's Glüxkind lands on TIME's Best Inventions of 2026 with its Rosa smart stroller
TIME's Parenting pick uses a motor to help parents up hills, rock a child to sleep and play white noise; it is not meant to run unattended.
Vancouver-based Glüxkind has been named to TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026 for Rosa, its smart stroller, Techcouver reported on Friday. TIME selected the stroller in its Parenting category.
Co-founder Anne Hunger told TIME that she and her husband set out to build Rosa after learning, while she was pregnant with her first child, that even the fanciest strollers offered no connected features. Its 500-watt motor can help push the stroller up hills, let it roll just ahead of a parent and rock a baby to sleep, while an integrated speaker plays white noise or music. TIME notes that the stroller is not meant to operate unattended.
Rosa also brakes automatically, according to Techcouver, and parents can manage it through a companion app. The company was a startup finalist at the BC Tech Technology Impact Awards in 2025 and was a runner-up at Web Summit Qatar’s PITCH competition.
Glüxkind is one of at least two B.C. companies on this year’s list, alongside Surrey battery maker Moment Energy.
