B.C. NDP Leader David Eby, Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson and Green Leader Emily Lowan debated affordability, resource projects and Indigenous rights legislation in Vancouver on Wednesday night, in the only televised debate before the Oct. 24 election, CBC News reported.

Doerkson argued that ICBC's no-fault model has harmed people injured in crashes. "You're unclear on how much damage has been done under this system," he said.

Eby defended the system and questioned what would replace it. "Who's going to pay for those lawyers, Lorne? That's going to come out of the public purse," he said.

A 10-minute exchange on Indigenous rights legislation drew strong opinions from all three leaders, according to CBC.
