Hullo ferries operator names former P&O Ferries executive Louisa Bell as CEO
Bell takes over the Nanaimo-Vancouver foot-passenger service in January.

Vancouver Island Ferry Company, which operates the Hullo foot-passenger ferry between Nanaimo and downtown Vancouver, has named Louisa Bell as chief executive starting in January, the Nanaimo News Bulletin reported on Sunday.
Bell was most recently chief commercial officer of P&O Ferries, a European operator carrying 4.3 million passengers a year. Acting CEO Marco Ahrens will continue as general manager.
"In such a short space of time, the team has already built a service that people on both sides of the Strait value, connecting Nanaimo and downtown Vancouver quickly and comfortably," Bell said.
Julien Eaton, a board member at majority shareholder InfraRed Capital Partners, said Bell's experience "will be invaluable in guiding our next chapter."
