Amazon is in talks to acquire artificial intelligence developer Decart in a deal that could be worth about $7 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, according to SiliconANGLE and The Seattle Times.

People familiar with the talks told the Journal a deal could be completed in the coming days if discussions do not break down or another suitor does not emerge.

Decart's DOS software helps developers speed up AI training and inference by optimizing neural networks for a specific processor, a process that used to take months, SiliconANGLE reported. The Seattle Times noted the software could ease migration to Amazon's Trainium chips.

Decart raised $300 million at a $4 billion valuation in May. It was founded in 2023 by Israeli engineers Dean and Orian Leitersdorf and Moshe Shalev, and its investors include Sequoia Capital, Benchmark and Nvidia's venture arm.
