Nvidia is in early talks to increase its investment in open-weight model developer Reflection AI or potentially acquire it, the Financial Times reported on Saturday, according to Reuters and Bloomberg.

Possible structures include an "acqui-hire," in which Nvidia would hire staff and license technology, an agreement to supply more chips, or a larger equity stake, the FT said. No terms have been reached, and Reflection declined to comment, Bloomberg reported.

Reflection, founded by two former Google DeepMind researchers, released its first open-weight model, Beam, on Oct. 5. It has held talks to raise $2.5 billion at a $25 billion valuation, the Wall Street Journal previously reported.

Nvidia has already invested about $800 million in the startup, according to reports.
