Vancouver's record cruise season contributed more than $1 billion to local economy, port says
Canada Place expects about 1.4 million passengers and 358 ship visits, up 18 and 19 per cent from 2025.

Vancouver is closing out its busiest cruise season on record, with the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority estimating the industry contributed more than $1 billion to the local economy in 2026, Daily Hive reported on Friday.
The Canada Place terminal is expected to finish the season with about 1.4 million passengers and 358 ship visits, increases of 18 per cent and 19 per cent from 2025, when it recorded about 1.2 million passenger visits and 300 calls.
The final vessel of the season, Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Encore, is scheduled to arrive at Canada Place early on Monday, Oct. 12, and depart 24 hours later.
Cruise passengers support attractions, shops, restaurants, hotels and transportation businesses, especially in and near downtown Vancouver, according to the report.
