Japanese grocer Hashi Market to take over former Amazon Fresh space in North Seattle
The New York and California chain would anchor the Aurora Shopping Center in its first Washington store.

Japanese grocery chain Hashi Market will open its first Washington store in the former Amazon Fresh space at the Aurora Shopping Center in North Seattle, the Puget Sound Business Journal reported on Sunday.
Owner Merlone Geier Partners listed Hashi Market as the main tenant of the nearly 36,000-square-foot space at 13025 Aurora Ave. N., The Seattle Times later reported. No opening date has been announced.
Hashi Market primarily operates in New York and California and sells sushi, bento boxes, fresh sashimi and imported Japanese goods.
The Amazon Fresh store closed in February, after Amazon shuttered grocery stores that used technology to track items and automatically charge customers as they walked out, according to The Seattle Times.
