OpenAI takes aim at office software with Space, a shared ChatGPT workspace
Announced at DevDay in San Francisco, Space lets co-workers collaborate with ChatGPT and their own AI agents on files and pages.

OpenAI announced new ChatGPT features for office workers at its DevDay developer conference in San Francisco on Tuesday, moving further into workplace software long dominated by its partner Microsoft, TechCrunch reported.
The most notable is Space, a shared workspace inside ChatGPT where co-workers can collaborate with the chatbot and with their own Dots, OpenAI's newly launched AI agent personas that carry out tasks for users. Chief executive Sam Altman said pages and files all live together in Space, much as they would in a drive.
The launch puts OpenAI in more direct competition with Microsoft's Copilot, which the Redmond company is repositioning as an operating system for work.
For small teams, the competition should mean more choice and lower prices for AI-assisted document, file and project tools.
