OpenAI in talks to raise at least $30 billion at a $1.4-trillion valuation
Run-rate revenue reached $40 billion in August, up 70 per cent since July, Bloomberg reported.

OpenAI is in talks with investors to raise at least $30 billion in a pre-IPO funding round at a valuation of about $1.4 trillion, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, according to TechCrunch.
Investors are eager to put more money into the ChatGPT maker ahead of an expected public listing next year. A renewed focus on areas such as coding has driven a 70 per cent jump in run-rate revenue since July, to $40 billion in August, the report said.
OpenAI raised $122 billion in March at an $852-billion valuation, a round that was meant to be its last private raise before an IPO.
Capital on this scale funds compute, chips and data centres, and it keeps pressure on rivals and on the many smaller software firms building on top of OpenAI's models.
