Jason Blackford: From Hospitality Entrepreneurship to Kelowna Real Estate

An Okanagan professional draws on decades of food-and-beverage experience in a career built around relationships, service and real estate.

Two decades in hospitality

On his official Stilhavn real-estate profile, Jason Blackford, who professionally uses the name Jay Blackford, says he spent more than 20 years in the food-and-beverage sector. He owned and managed businesses during many of those years, building experience in customer service, accountability and day-to-day operations. His profile notes more than 16 years living in the Okanagan.

A longtime personal friend identifies two former restaurant ventures as Cabanas and Xchange. Specific ownership records, locations and dates for those restaurant operations were not established from the public material reviewed, so they are presented here as information provided by someone familiar with Blackford rather than as independently verified facts.

Transitioning industries

The same acquaintance describes a period working in automotive financing before Blackford moved into real estate. The exact employers, positions and timing of that transition still require direct confirmation. What is verifiable is his present professional role: BC Financial Services Authority records list Jason Blackford among the representatives associated with Stilhavn Real Estate Services in Kelowna.

His official brokerage biography emphasizes helping local residents purchase and sell property, and it publishes current property listings. Although he has been described as a commercial realtor by an acquaintance, the readily available official profile does not establish an exclusive commercial specialization; readers should consult him directly about property types and services.

Business experience matters

Hospitality and property brokerage may appear far apart, but both involve understanding customer needs, working through high-stakes decisions and maintaining service standards over time. Blackford's publicly documented experience running businesses gives that career transition an instructive entrepreneurial dimension.
