ARQS Incident Timeline · v1.0 · free browser tool

From detect
to resolve, lined up.

Log every stage of an incident — detect, alert, triage, mitigate, communicate, resolve, postmortem — with times, severity and who acted. See detect→ack, ack→mitigate and mitigate→resolve durations, catch out-of-order stages and long gaps. Free, and nothing leaves this browser.

One line of truth

A working timeline you can export.

Add events with a local time, title, category, actor/role, severity (SEV-1 through SEV-4 or Info), status and notes. The tool sorts chronologically, groups by category, measures milestone durations and flags stages that appear out of order or with multi-hour gaps. A labelled fictional checkout-latency incident is loaded so you can try exports immediately.

Practice on fiction

Sample: checkout latency.

The sample walks a fictional outfitter from a synthetic latency detect through mitigate, a status-page note, resolve and a planned postmortem — so durations and exports are real before you add your own events.

⏱

Milestone durations

Detect → acknowledge, acknowledge → mitigate, mitigate → resolve, and full detect → resolve, computed from the first event in each stage.

⇄

Order & gap checks

Flags when a later stage is timed before an earlier one, and when consecutive events are four or more hours apart.

⇪

Markdown, CSV, .ics

Export a Markdown timeline, a formula-safe CSV, an optional iCalendar file of milestone moments, and JSON you can reload later.

The tool

Incident timeline

A labelled fictional sample is loaded. Add your own events on the Add event tab. Saved in this browser only.

What this is, and isn't. A free timeline builder that stays in your browser. It does not page anyone, open tickets, or write to a status page. Fictional samples are labelled.
