Townline has added a Language & Newcomer Guide for visitors, newcomers and neighbours helping neighbours with common local situations. The first release focuses on directions, transit, essential services, shopping, opening times and everyday conversation.

The guide includes French, Spanish, Punjabi and Mandarin. Each pack begins with six practical phrases, creating 24 initial prompts. Examples cover finding a bus stop or hospital, asking for help, asking a price and checking when a place opens.

Visitors can select a pack, hear a phrase through the browser’s speech system, advance to the next phrase and mark it as known. The selected language and progress remain in the current browser, so the guide does not require a Townline account or a public learner profile.

The page groups its purpose into three local-use lanes: transit and directions, essential services, and everyday town life. That focus distinguishes it from a general course. It is a quick-reference and practice tool designed around moments that can occur while moving through a community.

Townline’s edition is identified by ARQS-APIN-2026-001122 and runs on the ARQS LinguaQuest Core. More city-specific packs can be added without changing the engine, giving individual Townline communities a path to expand useful local vocabulary over time.

The new guide extends Townline’s local intelligence model beyond events and discovery into practical newcomer support. It is available now from the Townline hub and works on desktop and touch devices.
