ARQS Form Friction Snapshot · v1.0 · free self-check

Take the drag
out of every form.

Engineers built wind tunnels to find every source of drag before anything flew. Do the same for your sign-up, booking and checkout forms: paste a page's HTML and see every field, what slows people down, and exactly what to change. Free, it never submits a form, and nothing leaves this browser.

Measure the drag

Every field costs someone time.

Open your page, view its source (or save it as HTML) and paste it in. Each form gets an inventory of its visible fields, what's required, how each is labelled and whether browsers can autofill it, plus a friction score and a rough time to complete.

Before and after

See what a friction pass is worth.

The sample compares the same booking form before and after: 14 fields with a split phone number, a birth date, a gender question, a pre-ticked newsletter box and a CAPTCHA, against 4 clearly labelled fields with autofill and a specific button.

⌨

Phone-friendly

Flags email and phone fields that won't open the right keyboard, postal codes typed as numbers, missing autocomplete tokens and password limits that block password managers.

✓

Labels and consent

Finds fields with no label or only placeholder text, required fields that aren't marked, pre-ticked marketing boxes and personal-data forms with no privacy link.

⚑

Asks you can drop

Highlights long forms, sensitive questions (birth date, gender, income, ID numbers), split name and phone fields, repeat-password boxes, CAPTCHAs and vague “Submit” buttons.

The tool

Form friction snapshot

A fictional sample (one booking form, before and after a friction pass) is loaded. Add your own pages on the Add pages tab. Saved in this browser only.

What this is, and isn't. A free self-check that reads the HTML you give it, entirely in your browser: it never submits a form, doesn't fetch or crawl any site and doesn't connect to your accounts. It reviews markup only, so it can't see scripts that change a form after the page loads, and it isn't a usability study, an accessibility certification or legal advice on consent. Check page structure with the Accessibility Landmark Inventory, ask better questions with the Client Discovery Questionnaire, and hear what customers say with Customer Voice Themes.
